Soft body
armor

Here at Protection Group Denmark, we pride ourselves on our tireless dedication to delivering top quality soft armor.

Quality materials

materials

We are highly specialized in the manufacturing of soft armor, and we use materials from e.g. US Honeywell; Spectra Shield and Gold Shield, to ensure that all of our soft armor solutions are made with the best possible ballistic materials.

The combination of premium materials and our own modern manufacturing facility results in  soft armor solutions that are trusted by professionals worldwide for reliable protection in the most demanding environments around the world.

We operate our own dedicated soft armor manufacturing facility in Denmark

pgd advantage

Precision, reliability and attention to detail are values we embody in every single product we create. Our modern ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturing facilities are a testament to our commitment to Danish quality.

All of our soft armor solutions are manufactured at our in-house facility equipped with advanced technology and machinery. Our specialisation is a result of many years of research experience and production.

We can design and manufacture soft armor solutions to comply with any bullet proof standard (HOSDB, VPAM, German Schutzklasse, Swedish BYA).
Manufactured according to strictly international requirements, our soft armor is designed to stop either bullets, stabs or both in a multi-threat solution.
We maintain a strict quality control during the entire production process to guarantee that our soft armor exceeds standards for safety, comfort and durability.

how our soft body armor is made

  • 01
    materials selection
We use high-performance ballistic materials directly from Honeywell and Dyneema. The exact chosen materials vary depending on the specific protection requirements for our different soft body armor solutions.
  • 02
    Plotting
Our plotter is used to guarantee absolute precision and efficiency before the cutting process. The machine plots out the specific shapes and sizes required for the different types of armor panels, minimizing material waste and ensuring 100 % accuracy before the cutting can begin.
  • 03
    Cutting
Then all armor panels are precisely cut and stacked in a specific order, optimizing the balance between flexibility and protection. The number of layered fabric sheets depends on the type of soft armor and protection level.
  • 04
    Stitching
Our soft body armor solutions have different structures and compositions of materials. Some layers need to be stitched together and other layers are stacked.
  • 05
    Insulation
The soft armor package with all the layers is sealed in an outer insulation layer material defined as a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU) material. This will ensure elasticity and resistance to water, oil, sweat, and abrasion. We use an ultrasonic heat sealer to effectively seal the soft armor to protect the ballistic material from wear and environmental damage.
  • 06
    Quality check
Each piece of soft armor undergoes a meticulous inspection for quality and safety standards before being certified for use and we can ship it out in the world to provide the necessary protection.

Ultrasonic sealing technology

PGD advantage

We use an advanced ultrasonic sealing technology for sealing our bulletproof soft armor panels in a water-resistant TPU cover. This method ensures a completely water-repellent and UV-resistant barrier, protecting the ballistic material from any liquid or sun exposure, thereby preserving the protective capabilities. Due to this sealing process, we confidently offer a 7-year guarantee on all of our bulletproof panels – two years longer than the industry standard.

Soft body armor with Outlast® PCM-technology

PGD Advantage

This technology was originally developed by NASA and PCM is short for Phase Change Material. The technology is now integrated into soft body armor to regulate temperature, providing enhanced comfort by absorbing, storing, and releasing heat to maintain a consistent microclimate within the body armor.

Simply explained, when the body generates excess heat, the PCM absorbs and stores it, and when the body cools, the stored heat is released. This dynamic thermal regulation helps prevent overheating or chilling, making the soft body armor more comfortable to wear over extended periods of 12-14 hours at a time in varying conditions around the world.

Conventional mesh or sweat-absorbing materials normally help dissipate heat but do not provide warmth when you’re cold. By using this technology, we make sure that you keep your body at just the right temperature.

Wearing a bulletproof vest with Outlast® technology is like having a duvet that keeps you comfortable throughout the night – no need to kick it off when you’re too warm or reach for it when you’re cold. This adaptability is crucial for those on guard or patrolling, as it directly impacts your performance. Outlast® technology ensures that your gear responds to your body’s needs, providing consistent comfort.

Bulletproof vest NIJ levels

protection levels

All of our bulletproof solutions undergo thorough testing, meeting the international NIJ (National Institute of Justice) standards at renowned laboratories such as AITEX in Spain and Element Defense in the United States.

We operate according to both NIJ standard 0101.06 and NIJ standard 0101.04, which are standards for bulletproof vests, meaning that the vest has been tested through strict testing methods in a professional laboratory. This ensures that our vests can stop the threats set by NIJ.

NIJ standard 0101.06 comes in 3 different threat levels, where all our bulletproof vests mainly are level 3a. This means that our body armor will stop all the threats below:

NIJ standard 0101.06

  • Unisex bulletproof vests
Most of our bulletproof vests are unisex. They are designed to provide effective protection for all body types, offering a versatile fit that accommodates both men and women without further custom fitting being needed. The design of our soft body armor ensures comfort and mobility without compromising on safety. Better engineering, design and materials is the foundation of our high-quality soft body armor that forms itself to almost any bodytype, man or female. Unisex soft armor is ideal for law enforcement, security personnel, and civilians, ensuring reliable ballistic level IIIA protection regardless of gender.
