The plate is made of Monolithic SIC, which means that there is a large piece of ceramic at the front of the ballistic hard armor plate, which is our lightest ceramic solution.

The advantage of using Monolothic SIC is that the plate is firstly very light, but it is also resistant to extreme temperatures, such as heat and cold, where its performance is better than normal ceramic plates.
At the same time, the plate stops up to 7.62x63 AP (30-06 springfield), and impacts from AK47, SS109 / M855, M80 and similar threats. Our ESAPI plate is stand alone, and requires no soft armor behind.
The plate is coated with a small layer of foam, which protects the ceramic if the plate strikes. At the same time, the plate comes with a 100% water-repellent Cordura cover, which protects the plate from water, oil and similar liquids.
